Sabo, Sagamu – Residents of the Sabo community in Sagamu Local Government Area rejoiced today as the newly reconstructed Soda Street was officially commissioned. The event, a testament to significant infrastructural development under the leadership of Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, marks a turning point for the community.

The commissioning ceremony featured Hon. Ademola Adeniran Adeyinka, popularly known as Sapele, who represented Governor Dapo Abiodun. He praised the Sode Street project as a "solution-driven intervention," addressing the pressing needs of the community. Sapele emphasized the vital role of infrastructure in enhancing residents' welfare, stating, "This project is not just about paving a road; it’s about transforming lives and creating opportunities." He commended both Governor Abiodun and Chairman Odulate for their dedication to meaningful development initiatives within the area.

The reconstruction of Sode Street includes improved drainage systems and a durable road surface intended to reduce flooding and facilitate smoother transportation. The upgrades are set to ease travel for residents and significantly enhance economic activities in the neighborhood. Mrs. Kehinde Adeleke, a long-time resident of Sabo, expressed her excitement, saying, "It’s like a dream come true for us. Our community has struggled with poor road conditions for years. This reconstruction will not only reduce travel stress but also beautify our neighborhood."

This project aligns with Chairman Odulate’s broader developmental agenda, titled #IgbegaIjobaIbileSagamu, which focuses on repositioning the local government for sustainable growth through targeted infrastructure projects and community-driven solutions. Chairman Odulate remarked, "We recognize the pressing need for quality infrastructure, and we are committed to delivering on our promises for a better Sagamu," assuring residents that more projects are in the pipeline.

In a complementary move towards grassroots renewal, the newly renovated Legislative Building was also officially commissioned. The event, conducted by Vice Chairman Alhaji Isiaka Salami on behalf of Chairman Odulate, was attended by party leaders, lawmakers, and community stakeholders. Salami praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for fostering an enabling environment for local governments.

Hon. Babalola Oluwakayode, Leader of the Legislative Council, lauded the Governor, the Executive Council, and the House of Assembly member representing Sagamu Constituency II for their unwavering support, calling the upgraded facility “a foundation for more effective and focused legislative service to the people of Sagamu.” The new building features enhanced office spaces and improved infrastructure designed to facilitate efficient legislative duties.

Adeniran Titilope, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Council Chairman, emphasized the significance of these commissioning events, stating, “These projects go beyond physical structures, they represent promises fulfilled and a clear commitment to progress.” She hinted at more developments to come, assuring residents that this is merely the beginning of the new administration's ambitious agenda.

With these recent infrastructural advancements, residents of Sabo and surrounding areas are optimistic about the future. The completion and commissioning of Soda Street and the Legislative Building symbolize not only physical improvements but also a renewed commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Sagamu. As the local government continues to pursue its developmental agenda, anticipation grows for the broader transformation these projects promise to instigate throughout the region.
