Odelemo, Ogun State - In response to the recent tragic death of a young boy at the Odelemo General Hospital, the youth of the community convened an emergency meeting with Hon. Alhaji Omooba Damilare Mohammed Bello, the unfortunate incident has ignited widespread grief and frustration, highlighting longstanding issues of inadequate medical infrastructure and poor road networks that continue to endanger lives in the area.
During the meeting, the youth expressed their deep concern over the state of healthcare delivery and the critical need for urgent government intervention. They emphasized how bad roads further restrict access to emergency medical care, exacerbating the impact of already limited services.
Hon. Bello, addressing the gathering, empathized with the pain and anger felt across the community. He urged the youth to remain united and focused in their advocacy, stressing the importance of constructive civic engagement. He advised them to:
• Stay Organized - Collective action and a unified voice will amplify their message and demand attention.
• Be Persistent – Continuous engagement is vital to keep their concerns prioritized.
• Demand Accountability – Elected and appointed leaders must be held responsible for fulfilling their duties.
• Advocate Responsibly – Hon. Dre emphasized that while demanding change, the youth must stay out of trouble, be constructive in their approach, and always maintain respect in their communication and actions.
“This is a moment for unity, for strategy, and for impactful advocacy,” Hon. Dre stated. “Let your passion be guided by purpose, and together, we will ensure that Odelemo gets the healthcare, infrastructure, and attention it rightfully deserves.”
