Kano Police Arrest 11 Students, Over Alleged K!lling of Two Colleagues at Bichi Secondary School

The Kano State Police Command has detained eleven students from Government Boarding Secondary School, Bichi, in connection with the de@ths of two fellow students, Hamza Idris Tofawa and Umar Yusuf Dungurawa. 


The victims were allegedly attacked with locally made metal objects known as “Gwale-Gwale” within the school.SP Abdullahi Haruna, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrests on Thursday, stating, “Eleven students were arrested over the incident, and the investigation is ongoing to determine their individual involvement.” 


The state Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, has ordered a thorough probe, with instructions relayed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Bashir Bappa Mohammad, during a visit to the school on Wednesday.


While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, with no confirmation of cult activity or bullying, the police have vowed to pursue the case rigorously and ensure prosecution of those found responsible.
