Akinale Town, Ogun State – July 7, 2025 – A momentous occasion unfolded in Akinale Town today as Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, delivered an inspiring address during the official presentation of the staff of office to the new Olu of Towulade Akinale, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Oluseyi Adediran, CIAP, ANIMN, "Otileta 1." The event, attended by dignitaries from various sectors, emphasized the significance of community unity and support for leadership in Akinale.
The ceremony, graced by the presence of Ogun State’s Executive Governor, H.E. Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, and Deputy Governor, H.E. Engr. Noimot Oyedele-Salako, along with other illustrious guests, highlighted the transition in leadership following the passing of the late Oba (Dr.) Olufemi Ogunleye on June 19, 2024. The Executive Chairman, in his opening remarks, expressed his gratitude for the turnout and acknowledged the contributions of various stakeholders to this historic moment.
In his heartfelt address, Hon. Adisa reflected on the significance of the day, stating, "Today's occasion marks a significant milestone for the Local Government and a new dawn for the good people of Akinale Town." He paid tribute to the late Oba Ogunleye, imploring for the repose of his soul as the community begins a new chapter under the leadership of Oba Adediran.
The Executive Chairman lauded the efforts of Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, as well as the Permanent Secretary and other officials for their commitment to ensuring a transparent and efficient selection process. He recognized the pivotal roles played by other traditional rulers, particularly HRM Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR, the Alake of Egbaland, and Oba (Prof) Saka Adeola Matemilola, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, in facilitating the royal transition.
Demonstrating the essence of unity within the local leadership, Hon. Adisa urged the Forum of Obas in Ewekoro Local Government to embrace the new Olu and provide the necessary support to help him establish a strong foundation for his reign. The Executive Chairman extended a heartfelt appeal to the people of Akinale, both at home and in the diaspora, encouraging them to forge a united front behind their new Oba to foster development and progress in their community.
In concluding his address, he congratulated Oba (Dr.) Oluwaseyi Adediran on his ascension, wishing him good health, long life, and divine wisdom to lead his subjects effectively. The gathering offered blessings for a fruitful and peaceful reign as the new Kabiyesi takes on the responsibilities of leadership.
