Bandits Kidnap Over 100 Farmers, K!ll Nine in Jengebe Village Attack

In a fresh wave of violence in Zamfara State, bandits abducted over 100 farmers in Jengebe village, Talatan Mafara Local Government Area, over the weekend. 


The assailants struck again on Sunday evening but failed to kidnap anyone during the second raid. According to RFI Hausa service, as reported by The Guardian, nine farmers were k!lled on their farms during the attacks.


The Zamfara State government has responded promptly, with Ahmad Dan Manga, Special Adviser to the governor on security, stating that authorities are managing the crisis. 


A delegation will visit the affected area, and soldiers alongside vigilante groups have been deployed to bolster security.In a separate development, the Kaduna State Police Command arrested Mati Bagiyo, a notorious bandit wanted for 11 years. 


Police spokesperson Mansur Hassan revealed that a significant cache of weapons was recovered, including an AK-47 rifle, a fabricated AK-47, a pump-action gun, two fabricated pistols, multiple magazines, ammunition, a machete, two torchlights, and an unjamming rod. 


Bagiyo, who terrorized Kaduna and Katsina States, is in custody and cooperating with investigators.
