A yet-to-be-identified female passenger has lost her life in a road accident that occurred along the Igan Road in the Ago-Iwoye area of Ogun State.
The accident which involved a red Toyota Camry registered as JJJ 168 GY and a red Bajaj motorcycle with number plate KNN 873 ZY happened on Wednesday.
It was reported that the driver of the Camry, due to excessive speed, collided with the motorcycle, leaving the motorcyclist severely injured and killing the passenger.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson of the State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, Babatunde Akinbiyi, in a traffic update, said the accidented vehicle and motorcycle have been evacuated and the situation brought under control.
Akinbiyi assured that investigation are ongoing, advising motorists and other road users to ensure complete safety when using the roads.
He said, “ One female died and one male was injured, the accidented vehicle and motorcycle were evacuated from the road and roadside to the police cage for further investigation”.
