I am still in the PDP, I have no plan of leaving - Governor Peter Mbah

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dismissing rumors of his potential defection. 

Speaking on Saturday, June 28, at an interactive session with the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) in Enugu, Mbah emphasized his loyalty to the party.

“I am still in the PDP, as you can see, the flag behind me is that of the PDP,” Mbah stated. He acknowledged that while the party is currently facing internal challenges, such issues are not exclusive to the PDP, noting that other political parties across Nigeria are also contending with internal disputes.

Despite the turbulence, the governor expressed confidence in the party’s resilience and its ability to overcome its crisis in due course. He reiterated his commitment to governance over politics, saying his administration remains focused on delivering on its mandate to the people of Enugu State.

“It is also clear from the people of Enugu State that we are in this to serve them. So we have focused largely on governance,” Mbah said. “I believe that at the end of the day, the people would have to decide whether they want to renew our mandate or kick us out.”
