The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has provided clarity on its recent ₦30 million donation from the Kebbi State Government.
According to CAN, the funds were meant to support the Kebbi State Healing and Deliverance Crusade, a joint initiative with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
The donation was intended for the crusade, not as a personal gift to Pastor Paul Enenche, who ministered during the event.
Pastor Enenche, known for not accepting gifts during his ministry, advised that the funds be used for developmental projects instead.
CAN has since redirected the funds towards constructing a perimeter fence at the Christian cemetery in Kebbi State, recently approved by Governor Nasir Idris.
CAN's Statement:
"We wish to make it clear to the general public and the state government that the ₦30 million gift was in support of the Kebbi State Healing and Deliverance Crusade held in Birnin Kebbi. The event was jointly organized by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Kebbi State Chapter of CAN," CAN stated.
The Kebbi State Government had donated the ₦30 million to CAN to support the Christian community in the state.
This gesture is part of the government's efforts to promote interfaith harmony and support community development projects.
