Lagos, Nigeria - April 17, 2025

In a heartfelt address extending appreciation and greetings to party leaders, Prince Amb. (Dr.) Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, newly elected Southwest Ex-Officio of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration within the party. The ceremony, held on April 16, 2025, marked a significant milestone in Ewenla's political journey, as he expressed gratitude to various stakeholders and leaders who have supported his ascent.

Dr. Ewenla, a proud member of the Baaki Adedipe Royal Family of Lagos, began his message by acknowledging the dedication and leadership of the Lagos State PDP executives. He conveyed his appreciation for prominent figures such as Chief Olabode Ibikunle George, the Atona Oodua, and Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, commending their roles in nurturing the party's growth in Lagos State.

The newly-elected Ex-Officio also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Dr. Phillips Aivoji, the Lagos State PDP Chairman, and Mr. Adegboyega Adegbesan, the Chair of Chairs for Lagos State, along with all local government chairmen. Ewenla lauded their support and collaboration, affirming that such unity is vital for the party's success.

Turning his attention to the women of Lagos State, Ewenla highlighted the importance of their contributions to the party and society at large. He thanked respected women leaders, including Chief Mrs. Aduke Maina and Alhaja Idowu Akinsanya, reassuring them that their efforts would not go unnoticed as they celebrate the achievements of their children.

The role of youth in the party was another focal point in Ewenla’s address. He thanked Lagos State Youth Leader Agboola Akinpelu and Olabinjo Ibrahim (BJ) for their contributions, expressing his appreciation for the youth of Lagos, whose energy and ideas are crucial for revitalizing the party.

Ewenla also extended his thanks to the leadership of Alimosho Local Government PDP, under the stewardship of Hon. Shodiya Isiaka. He praised the Elders Council Chairman, Hon. Alani Ige, for their unwavering support, both financially and morally.

The new Southwest Ex-Officio did not miss the opportunity to acknowledge his personal supporters, specifically highlighting the contributions of individuals like Evangelist Shodiya Adebayo and Hon. Femi Awodeji Smart, among others, in his journey within the PDP.

In a broader appeal, Ewenla expressed profound gratitude to two distinguished leaders in the region: His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, and His Excellency, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State. He recognized their confidence and trust in him, pledging to uphold the values of humility, integrity, and dedication in his role.

Ewenla concluded his address with a hopeful message for the future of the PDP, calling for strengthened unity and resilience among party members. “May our party continue to grow in unity, strength, and success,” he stated.

With his commitment to fostering collaboration and cohesion among party members, the newly elected Southwest Ex-Officio aims to build upon the foundations laid by previous leaders, steering the PDP towards greater achievements in the years ahead.
