In a passionate call to action, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has urged party members to stand fearless and united in the face of Nigeria’s growing challenges, declaring that the nation is on the brink and desperately needs rescuing.
Speaking at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting currently underway in Abuja, Obi didn’t hold back: “Do not fear anybody,” he charged. “Those who were afraid yesterday didn’t do any better. Nigeria is collapsing. The numbers are clear, the indices are clear—people are getting poorer every day.”
His message was not just about national decay but also about hope, resilience, and the Labour Party’s unique role in charting a new course.
Obi emphasized the importance of unity, inclusivity, and integrity within the party.
“The Labour Party has chosen to be a family. That means every decision must be made together. It’s not about Peter Obi—it’s about all of us. No one is excluded in this movement. We are building a party rooted in fairness and justice.”
Looking ahead, he outlined a bold vision for the future:
“We want to enter the next election cycle ready—offering Nigerians the best and most competent candidates across every level: House of Reps, Senate, Governorship, and Presidency. This time, we will not settle for less.”
Obi also made it clear that the Labour Party is raising the bar for internal standards: “We must correct past mistakes. Anyone seeking to fly our flag must be a true party loyalist—not someone parachuting in at the last minute. Competence and commitment are non-negotiable.”
As murmurs of approval echoed through the NEC hall, it was clear that Obi’s words had struck a chord—rekindling belief in a movement many still see as Nigeria’s most credible path to change.
