As part of its annual humanitarian relief efforts, Saudi Arabia has distributed 50 tonnes of dates to Kano and other northern states in Nigeria, reinforcing its longstanding commitment to supporting vulnerable communities. A similar donation of 50 tonnes was recently delivered in Abuja.
The initiative, facilitated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), aims to alleviate food insecurity, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, and further strengthen the deep-rooted ties between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria.
During an official ceremony in Kano, the Consul General of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Khalil Admawy, reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s dedication to humanitarian causes and its unwavering support for Muslim communities worldwide.
Expressing gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Admawy emphasized that the Kingdom remains steadfast in its commitment to Islamic solidarity and humanitarian aid.
The distribution of dates will be carried out in collaboration with local authorities and humanitarian organizations to ensure that the most vulnerable families receive the aid.
Additionally, the Consul General announced that the IFTAR Programme, another major humanitarian initiative by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, is set to be launched in Abuja during the third month of Ramadan, providing further relief to underserved communities.
