FG Plans To Spend N679b On 13 Road Projects – Umahi




The Federal Government has announced plans to invest N679 billion in the rehabilitation and construction of roads across various states as part of its ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure nationwide.


Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this following a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.


The initiative aims to enhance the national road network, reduce travel times, and stimulate economic growth by improving connectivity across key regions.

The approved projects span both northern and southern states, covering major roadways in need of upgrades or new construction.


Below is a list of the roads and their allocated budgets:

  • Aakalari-Ukuk Road (Bauchi State) – N11.278 billion
  • Uturu-Isikwuato-Akara Road (Abia State) – N5.926 billion
  • Zaria-Ukui-Kolomani-Dan Bali-Maraba-Kanya-Subawa-Kasa Road (Kaduna and Katsina States) – N198 billion
  • Kano-Maiduguri Road – N128.395 billion
  • Bagudu Road (Kebbi State) – N2.645 billion
  • Oba-Nnewi-Arondizogu-Okigwe Road (Imo and Anambra States) – N8.45 billion
  • Iyin-Ilawe-Ekiti Road – N13.736 billion (initial), with an additional N15.626 billion
  • Ilogu Road (Kwara and Osun States) – N7.556 billion
  • Wukari-Akwana Road (Taraba State) – N12.615 billion
  • Bida-Lapaya-Lambda Road (Niger State) – N39.493 billion
  • Gada-Zamazuru-Gamji Road – N11.976 billion
  • Kamakish Road (Oyo State) – N12.35 billion
  • Aba-Ikot-Ekpene Road Dualisation – N30 billion


The government emphasizes that these projects are critical to national development and economic advancement, ensuring better transportation infrastructure for citizens across the country.
