A few weeks after meeting with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Chijioke Edeoga has officially rejoined the party.
Edeoga had previously left the PDP following its primary election, defecting to the Labour Party (LP), where he mounted a strong challenge against the then PDP candidate and now Governor Peter Mbah.
His return was influenced by a visit from Hon. Martin Chukwunweike, the PDP chairman in Enugu State, who met with Edeoga at his residence and urged him to return to his political base.
Before his decision, the All Progressives Congress (APC) had also attempted to woo him into their ranks. However, last week, Edeoga consulted with LP stakeholders in his Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, seeking their input. The majority favored his return to the PDP.
On Monday, Edeoga made his return official, arriving at the PDP secretariat in Enugu and describing the move as a “homecoming.”
