The Senator representing Ogun east senatorial district, Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) has been commended for initiating a bill at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly towards the establishment of a Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Ijebu Ode.
The amalgamation of the old Egba and Ijebu province gave room for the creation of Ogun State in 1976.
Ever since the creation of Ogun State, there have never been any specific federal institution be it University, Polytechnic, College of Education, Federal Medical Center etc established anywhere in Ijebu region.
All the Federal institutions in Ogun State at present were all located within the old Egba province.
The Ijebu Descendants Union (IDU), according to the statements released by her media and publicity unit appreciated the former two term Governor of Ogun State, Otunba (Engr)Gbenga Daniel for his tireless efforts geared towards the rapid growth and development of Ogun east.
Notable among the past fantastic developmental efforts of Senator Daniel are the establishment of the first ever University of Education in Nigeria, the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Ijebu Igbo, Gateway Institute of Petrochemical Ogun Waterside, Dipo Dina Int'l stadium Ijebu Ode, Olokola Free Trade Zone, NYSC permanent orientation camp Sagamu, Ogere Trailer park, Sagamu Int'l market, Gateway Int'l stadium Sagamu, Gateway Polytechnic Sapade to mention but a few.
The Ijebu Descendants Union (IDU) assured Senator Daniel of her continuous support and loyalty while also promising total collaboration with any effort aimed at bringing developments to any part of Ogun east senatorial district.
The ability and capability of Senator Daniel who is the Otunba Obalofin of Ijebu Land and the Arole of Remo Land to bring all round developments to Ogun east senatorial district is never in doubt.
Senator Daniel remains the evergreen former Governor of Ogun State with unparalleled records of achievements in the areas of job creations, empowerments and infrastructural developments etc.
The Federal Medical Center Ijebu Ode when finally established will see to the medical needs of the residents of Ogun east while also serving as an avenue for serious employment generation.
Senator Daniel is also appreciated for sponsoring another bill for the creation of Federal College of Aviation, Ilara Remo.
OGD, the former Ogun State Governor (2003 -2011) is the brain behind the establishment of the Gateway Agro argo Int'l Airport located in Iperu Remo.

The mandate given to OGD will definitely extend beyond 2027.
