Determined to discover young and gifted children in sports, the Chairman KC youth movement in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon Engineer Kazeem Adelani has announced the commencement of a 5-A-Side football championship for secondary schools and individual clubs
Adelani disclosed this on Monday while briefing journalists on activities lined up to make the championship a successful one.
The games which will be in second phase before December will partnership with the Ogun State Sports Commission by 2025 with aims to drivers welfare scheme on Youth development withing Ifo Local Government and enter Ogun State at large
The organizer described the event as a one-of-a kind talent development sport initiative by his support team both in Nigeria and diaspora, at which he said international stars will be discovered.
He said: “In continuation of our annual sporting calendar known as KC Sports 2024, we are proud to announce the commencement of this laudable event of 5-Aside football championship.
“This competition will have numbers of players from various groups in and outside Ifo Local Government Area battling it out on the pitch to be crowned the ultimate 5-Aside football champion with various individual and collective prizes to be won.
“Distinguished residents of Ifo and environs, let me use this opportunity to invite you to be part of this noble initiative to develop talents in Ifo by catching them young, come and show support to the future of football in Nigeria irrespective of our political affiliations
“To ensure sustainability of this initiative, we are partnering with the Ogun State Sports Commission.
“We have also secured the participation of an international scout to ensure that outstanding talents are given international exposure.
