Saudi Arabia has declared Wednesday, April 10, as the first day of Eid-El-Fitr, after the crescent Moon was not spotted on Monday evening.

The Kingdom announced that the holy month of Ramadan would, therefore, last 30 days this year.

This is because the new crescent was not sighted on Monday in the Kingdom.

Haramain News in a statement on its X (Twitter) handle, said: The crescent moon was NOT sighted in Saudi Arabia.

Therefore, Eid-El-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10th April 2024.

"May Allah accept our siyām, qiyām, and a'māl, and may He grant us the opportunity to spend the remaining hours of this auspicious month doing good deeds. May He also grant us the blessing of many more healthy Ramadans." "Āmīn," it twitted.

The leading news outlet in the Kingdom is Haramain.

Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, has instructed the devout Muslims to search for a new crescent of Shawwal.

He also serves as the President of the NSCIA, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
