Ogun Commissioner Admonishes workers to Uphold Government core Mandates

Workers in Ogun State Civil Service have been advised to focus on upholding the core mandates of their various Ministries, departments and agencies in order to effectively achieve the set goals of Prince Dapo Abiodun led government for the State in 2024.

This was made known by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela at the maiden Praise & Prayer meeting with workers of the Ministry in the new year which afforded them the opportunity to thank God and prayed together in Abeokuta.

Sofela who urged members of staff of the Ministry to see everyday as a new year beyond the usual January resolution, underscored the need for personal development and competence on the part of individual worker.
While calling on civil servants to cooperate with the present administration in the Gateway State, the Commissioner said government only thrives and succeeds with the active cooperation and collaboration of bureaucracy.

According to him, government programmes are executed through bureaucracy. The strategic roles civil servants play will be a reflection of the extent to which government plans are executed.

"  We have our mandate as a Ministry. We have our mandate as a department. Every week, every day, ask yourself, 'what am I supposed to be doing in this department?' Measure your activities, decisions, programmes to see how well you are in alignment with the mandate of your core agenda which is the reason for our existence.

"It is a new year. It is a new beginning. Endeavour to cooperate with us. Give your best to the government of the day. Our Governor wants shared prosperity, development and growth for the entire length and breadth of the State which can be achieved through our active cooperation and collaboration," he said.

Sofela who further emphasized that  workers should go for regular medical check-up at least twice in a year, said no task can be achieved at work without good health.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, appreciated Governor Abiodun for creating an enabling environment for the workforce in the State.

Aikulola, therefore, urged staffers to put in their best for better productivity in the new year.
