The Eyewei (V) of Azzuzuama, Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State, His Royal Highness Dr Selky Kile Torughedi (aka General Young Shall Grow) has said the labour of Nigeria's Fallen Heroes, particularly soldiers who died to make sure Nigeria remained one indivisible and united nation must not be forgotten.

HRH Dr Selky made this known in his Palace in Azuzuama, Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State on Monday 15th January 2024 to mark this year's armed forces remembrance day. The Monarch noted that Prominent Ijaw sons like late Major Isaac Adaka Boro and Lt Col Betto Tuamokuma paid the ultimate price fighting for nigeria's unity, hence, as one who believe in the unity of Nigeria, all efforts of peace must be explored.

He added that himself along with many others are together sueing for peace and unity because without peace there will be no development.

He urged the military deployed in various military operations in the Niger Delta and across the country to see nigerians as their partners in progress who are interested in the peace and progress of their country, hence the rules of engagement should be adhered to in preserving lives and property, while also ensuring that bad eggs are fishes out. He pointed out that the successes recorded in the safety of water ways, pipelines and the fight against crude oil theft is a testimony of what collaboration between the military, other security agencies and citizens.

He hailed the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for doing his best to ensure the safety of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
