Following the request of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun to have two professional Journalists from the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council in his cabinet to function as Senior Special Assistants on Media, the leadership of the Council have met to approve the nomination of Messrs James Sowole and Kazeem Olowe for onward appointment by the Governor.
The meeting held at the Council's Secretariat in Abeokuta on Friday under the Chairmanship of Comrade Akinwale Olanrewaju had in attendance Executive Council members, Chapel Chairmen, members of the State Working Committee and elders of the Council.
While appreciating the governor of the State for the privilege given to the Union to positively contribute to the "Building Our Future Together" agenda of the present administration, Comrade Olanrewaju assured that the two nominated journalists are very competent and would add value to the media team.
The Council Chairman who appreciated the leadership of the Union for speaking with one voice to recommend two of its best hands enjoined members to continue to give their best to the Union.
Comrades James Sowole, a Senior Correspondent of "This Day Newspaper" was a former Chairman of Ondo State Council of the Union and Comrade Kazeem Olowe, a Senior Correspondent of Television Continental (TVC) was the immediate past Chairman of Consolidated Chapel of the Union with years of experience in media management.
In their response, the duo of Messrs Sowole and Olowe appreciated the leadership of the Council for the trust and confidence reposed in them pledging to support and promote the image of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led government while not destroying the cordial relationship that exists amongst the members.
