The National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) celebrates Professor Felix Kolawole Salako (FSSSN) the immediate past Vice Chancellor  of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta on the successful completion of his tenure as the 6th substantive Vice-Chancellor.

According to the statement signed by Comrade Ekundina Segun Elvis, Universal Deputy Senate President, NANS who described Prof. Salako as an embodiment of humanity who served as a father to all during  his administration as the VC of the school.

FUNAAB as an institution experienced premium service delivery in terms of leadership and administration in the last 5 years, this has no doubt enhanced the school to continue to churn out topnotch products (graduates) into the labour market.

His diplomatic, intellectual and ideological approach to students related issues most especially students welfarism  and security on and off campus cannot be overemphasised. This qualities have distinguished him from other leaders in the contemporary time to be a true leader and father to students under his care.

Prof. Salako to us at NANS, will not only go down the memory lane as great administrative officer but also as a restorer and a builder as seen in the sterling infrastructures that laced his tenure. The reason for this is the numerous physically verifiable projects embarked upon by his administration which includes but not limited to the construction of: Senate phase 2, state of the earth furnished lecture theatres, well equipped laboratories,  World class dam and many more. These projects have raised the bar of the university in the international community and also increased the rank of the institution.

Achievements in the area of research and development grants won by the school in the last 5 years by the institution can also be traced to the support of the Vice-Chancellor to the Directorate of Research and Development in the University. Various national and international grants that were gotten were instrumental to the facilitation of numerous human capital development activities e.g fully funded postdoctoral scholarships for staffs, fully funded PhD scholarships etc.

Landmark achievements and development experienced during the tenure of Prof. Salako are too numerous to mention which is why the entirety of Nigerian Students have decided to celebrate and felicitate with our father who is worthy of emulation by all and sundry. For he did excellently well in this capacity,  we believe that haven been faithful in little, if given a bigger platform to serve, he will deliver exceedingly well. Here is calling on those that have to do with the project of Nigeria and Africa at large, not to allow him rest by supporting his dream to die empty, with his mind to pour all his best for the service that serve the interests of humanity.

We as Nigerian students wish him well in his future endeavours and we hope the government will identify him soon to have his input in national development.
