A strong grassroots political group, code named TIWAN TIWAN has unequivocally demanded for greater political opportunities to be extended to other Indigenous aspirants who have shown interest and are qualified to represent OOLG at Ogun state house of Assembly.

This demand was made known to our correspondence through the group's Coordinator, Hon. Bisi Oyemade during re-election solidarity rally of HE Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, held at Owode Egba, Thursday 5th May, 2022.

"According to a Yoruba adage, when a lizard stays too long in the bush it turns into an alligator" said Bisi Oyemade.

Hon. Oyemade expressed fear and displeasure over what he termed unfortunate recycling of political office holders in Obafemi-Owode local government, especially at the state house of Assembly level. He urged the good people of Obafemi-Owode, the apex leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC to eschew such ugly development adding that Obafemi-Owode has so many capable sons and daughters who are ready and qualified to represent her at the legislative chamber if given the mandate.

He appealed to the APC apex leaders to ensure justice and fairness by giving other Indigenes opportunity to have a shot at Ogun State House of Assembly comes 2023.

He said since 1999, it has become an obvious tradition that, no one has ever represented Obafemi-Owode state constituency twice, thereby affording others the rare opportunity of being elected, bringing with them new ideas and innovations needed for effective and efficient representation.
Below according to him, is a simple analysis of representation at OGHA since 4th republic to buttress the group's demand.

1999 - 2003 Hon. Bode Bankole
2003 - 2007 Hon. Bamidele Erisan
2007 - 2011 Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun
2011 - 2015 Hon. Elizabeth Arifowose
2015 - 2019 Hon. Tunde Sanusi
2019 - 2023 Hon. Soneye Kayode

The above analysis according to Oyemade captures one term tradition principle in place since 1999 and must not change. The group advocates that one term principle is generally acceptable and has impacted positively at ensuring adequate representation which in turn fosters justice and human development as it exposes more people to the act of political representation at legislative chamber.

Hon. Bisi Oyemade used the opportunity to begthe APC leaders of leaders:
1. HE Chief Olusegun Osoba, former Governor of Ogun state
2. Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, senior special adviser on political affairs to Ogun state Governor
3. Engr. Hakeem Babatunde Adesina, special Adviser on works/infrastructure to Ogun state Governor
4. Amb. Sina Ogunsola, Executive Chairman OOLG and other apex leaders to respect and honour single term representation in place and operational since inception of the 4th republic without fear or favour.

He, however, on behalf of TIWAN TIWAN group appreciated all APC apex leaders in OOLG for the level playing ground provided to all aspirants towards achieving their political ambitions. Advising them to ensure that best candidate emerges winner at the end of the party primaries.

He concluded by pledging TIWAN TIWAN support for any candidate who wins and receives endorsement from the Apex leaders.
