Former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Rotimi Makinde on behalf of South West Agenda for Asiwaju '23 [SWAGA] has congratulated the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, as he tied the nuptial knot with his new wife, Princess Firdauz Abdullahi.

The high profile royal wedding took place at the residence of the Madakin Kano, Yola Quarters, Kano State on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Bosun Oladele the secretary of Swaga in a press statement personally signed and addresed to the monarch, Oluwo advised him to affectionately look after his newly wedded wife, while also commending him for keeping the cherished legacies of his ancestors alive on the throne.

“The entire members of SWAGA '23 heartily felicitate with you on the occasion of your wedding with Princess Firdauz Abdullahi which took place at the residence of the Madakin Kano, Yola Quarters, Kano. 

“lIn the same vein,Hon Rotimi  Makinde who is a close friend of the monarch added his voice "Your Magesty, you have proved once again that you are a detrabilized Nigerian, a true nationalist and we feel so proud to be associated with you as the Kabiyesi of Iwoland and the custodian of highly revered traditional and spiritual stool.

“Kabiyesi, we pray for your long life on this sacred throne of Oduduwa. We equally wish you and your wife, good health and pray that God Almighty bless your marriage with good children, unflinching love, even as you continue to espouse the excellent legacies and virtues of your forebear,” he added.

“SWAGA is further proud of you for using your throne to build bridges of friendship and harmony in Osun state, across Yoruba land and beyond. Permit us to also commend you for your progressive ideals, particularly your penchant for peace and harmony which Yorubas are known for.

“It is also our prayer that Kabiyesi and his newly found love spend many more years in wisdom, knowledge and understanding, and that your union will be fruitful and yield you all the wherewithal and fortunes needed in a successful marriage,” the statement concluded.
