ABEOKUTA—A former aspirant for Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr. Soji Oshibowale has vowed to mobilise his supporters in Ijebu North ll State Constituency (Ifelodun) to support the aspiration of a former council boss In Ogun, Alhaji Tele Ogunjobi to represent the good people of Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abuja in 2023.
Mr. Soji Oshibowale who recently withdrawn from the race to the Ogun State House of Assembly, said to have been prevailed on by the leaders and elders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to stepped down for the son of late former Minister Jubril-Martins Kuye, Mr. Bolaji Kuye. Soji Oshibowale launched his campaign late last year in a bid to represent Ijebu North ll State Constituency in the house of assembly in the coming 2023 elections.
In a press release signed by him on Monday and made available to the media, Mr. Adesoji Abiodun Oshibowale, popularly known as ‘S.O.J’, said, "the decision to withdrawn from the race was as a result of the intervention, extensive meetings and deliberation with our party leaders in our constituency with the aim to reduce number of the contestants in order to have a common font ahead of the general elections".
"In this regards, as a complete party man who believe in the supremacy of the party, I have decided to collapse my structure for Mr. Bolaji Jubril-Martins Kuye and offer to work to ensure that he emerges winner as our party standard bearer at the forthcoming primary elections of our party, and subsequently he emerge victorious at the general elections".
Speaking to the PDP members of Oru/Awa/Ilaporu at the Court-Hall in Oru-Ijebu on Thursday, 31st, March, 2022, the ex-aspirant, Mr. Soji Oshibowale drum support for the aspiration of Alhaji Tele Ogunjobi's bid to represent Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja, in 2023.
While commending Alhaji Tele Ogunjobi past record as council boss for his giant strides in infrastructural development, security, education, women and youth inclusiveness, among others,
noting that he has carefully studied the personality of Alhaji Tele Ogunjobi and the record of his activities when he was the council chairman of the local government in 2008 and is much convinced that he performed excellently well despite his short-stay in office.
S.O.J said that Alhaji Tele had shown that he had the capacity to represent the people at the national assembly, and influence legacy developments to our federal constituency.
At the meeting which was well attended by party members in his ward and leaders of the party in the constituency, S.O.J donates cash and gifts to the party members that present.
