LASU woos Bella Shmurda on social media, 'begs' him to go back to school

The Lagos State University (LASU) has urged Bella Shmurda, the singer, to come back and complete his degree programme.

On Wednesday, the ‘Cash App’ singer, born Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, had disclosed that he dropped out of the varsity after he failed some courses.

He had also revealed that he did not regret his decision to quit school.

He argued that he would not have attained fame if he had decided to stay put and resit the courses he failed.

The ‘Rush’ crooner, who celebrated his birthday on Thursday, also bragged about garnering 550 million streams across music platforms.

“I now worth over half a billion streams (550 million streams to be precise)
I for still dey LASU dey wine and dine with carryovers and stranded with nothing in my pocket… forever glad I did my thing,” Bella Shmurda had written in a mixture of English and Pidgin.

Replying to the post via its official Twitter handle, LASU said it remains glad to have played a part in the musician’s “beautiful story.”

The institution also urged the singer to consider rescinding his decision to ditch school and return to earn his degree.

“Happy birthday @fineboybella. Glad you have come this far pursuing your dream. Also glad @LASUOfficial played a part in your beautiful story because University dont make people rich, only incubate them to find and achieve purpose. Between, please come back to class and earn your degree,” it wrote.
