The enforcement team of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) today, apprehended and handed over to the Lagos State Police, two persons for illegal breaking of LASPPPA seals along Medical Centre, Unity Road, Ikeja.
The arrest was made on the instigation of the General Manager, Tpl Kehinde Osinaike, who observed the illegality while passing along the area this morning.
The structure, which is a portal cabin, was served a contravention notice and sealed earlier this year by LASBCA among others.
The structure which was placed on a space designated as a parking lot was thereafter unsealed without authorization from LASPPPA, which led to the arrest.
According to Tpl Osinaike, this arrest will serve as a deterrent to miscreants and others who are in the habits of violating Physical Planning Permit Laws of Lagos State to desist from such. He said, "the state will no longer condone any disregard to Town Planning Laws as this usually results to losses in the long run.
