As Muslims worldwide begin mandatory Ramadan fasting for the year 1442 Hijrah Calendar, the Honourable representing Odogbolu State Constiency and the Chief Whip of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. (Asiwaju) Atinuke Bello has felicitated with Muslim faithful in her constituency for witnessing the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, enjoining them to reinforce faith, compassion, forgiveness, and adherence to the teachings of Islam.

In her Ramadan greeting, the lawmaker noted that Ramadan affords the world an opportunity for spiritual rebirth, deep reflection, empathy for others – especially the poor – and strengthening ties within and outside our communities.

She said, "I would like to wish fellow Muslim brothers and sisters a purposive Ramadan. This holy month of fasting, charity, and prayer is a time for reflection; a time to focus on self-reformation; and how best to serve our community.

"Ramadan is a period of spiritual rebirth and commitment to the tenets of Islam that encourages gratitude and generosity, to appreciate all we have, extend altruistic gestures to the poor, and reach out to the sick and those in difficult situations.

"It's my prayer that everyone is rewarded with mercy, forgiveness, and joy as we embark on this period of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and increased devotion to faith.

"May we all have a rewarding Ramadan."

End.
