The founder of the Non-Governmental Organization, Beautiful Beginnings, Mrs Oluyemi Showunmi has called on the society at large to invest in female child's education, which is the only way to build the nation.

She made this known at her residence in Abeokuta while answering questions from newsmen as parts of the activities lined up to mark his golden jubilee birthday celebration tomorrow.

The wife of the Nigeria most vibrant commentator said that the time is ripe for women to take their place in the scheme of things especially in the running of the Nation.

Speaking on the recent appointment of Dr. Okonjo Iweala, Mrs Showunmi described this as a great accomplishment and a pointer to the fact that women have the spirit of excellence and Midas touch, and this is the reason why the conservative countries of the world should give them equal opportunities in all spheres of life.

She recounted her experience as a young child, the philanthropist said that her parents contributed to who she is today and not that alone, her husband has given her so much courage which has helped brought out the best in her.

The Initiator of the Beautiful Beginnings said that getting married to Segun Showunmi is a blessing that cannot be measured, speaking on one of the reasons for setting up the non-governmental organization was to inculcate morals, values, virtues and etiquette in the younger generations especially female children whose exposure to social media had robbed them of certain cultural of honouring the elders.

Mrs Showunmi posited that it is a delight to join the golden jubilee club and that all glory be to God for his protection despite the ravaging pestilence all over the world.

She, therefore admonished parents that both male and female children should be given equal access to education and basic amenities of life.

She entreated the Federal government not to relent in putting policies in place to encourage and empower girl child to pursue their dreams without any inhibiting factors.
