Actress Toyin Afolayan popularly known as Lola Idije has penned down a beautiful message and prayer for fellow actor Yemi Solade as he turns a year older today!

Wishing him a happy birthday on her Instagram page, the widowed actress, Lola Idije wrote “HAPPY birthday to my paddy of life, AGBAAKIN OLAYEMI OLUFELA SOLADE, By the grace of God you will standout in the crowd, Where others are crying you will be smiling and rejoicing,

The birthday celebrant and happily married father of two, Yemi Solade recently raised alarm over the Nigerian movie industry and the evil that has dominated it.

He revealed that the gatekeepers of Nollywood have allowed unprofessionals to fill spaces meant for those who truly have the passion for the craft.

“The Nollywood is not there right now. The Nolllywood you see now is all encompassing. It’s like an uncompleted building that is not guarded and what you meet there would amaze you. It has become an all comers affair, anybody can stroll in and act. All the Yahoo boy are now there, all the prostitutes that you can imagine are there,” he told Nigerian Tribune.

Speaking further, Mr Solade added “People cannot even differentiate between the core professionals and these class of clowns who have infiltrated the association, but they didn’t just fly in, some people whom you refer to as core professionals brought them in.

It’s just so porous that anybody can become an actor, the entry point is so porous and annoying. It’s a profession and it must be handled and treated as one. I am not really pleased with the state of the industry. It’s a professional body and we must portray ourselves as one that has mastered the art and craft of the profession,” he said.

Meanwhile Kemi Filani recalls that Nollywood actress Toyin Afolayan also known as Lola Idije in an interview how her love for her female children prevented her from remarrying after losing her husband.

Talking about why she is yet to remarry after the death of her husband, she said she didn’t think about giving another shot at love because of the love she had for her kids.

“I didn’t remarry because of my kids. I don’t think there will be too many men who will be interested in marrying you with three kids. The new husband might not like to have the kids live with us and there would be some problems that will happen as a result of them living with us and I can’t compare my kids with anything in this world and I decided to stay with them and forget the idea of marrying another man. I am happy I was able to take care of them with the help of God,” she said.
