PROTEST: 'OUR HARD EARN PEACE IN OGUN STATE IS NOT NEGOTIABLE', NANS SEND OUT WARNING TO IMPOSTOR

ABEOKUTA - National Association of Nigerian Students NANS has dissociate self from the planned protest which got the attention of the Nigeria Police Force recently.

According to the press statement signed by Comrade Bamgbose Tomiwa
Chairman NANS OGUN JCC, We have been duly informed of the plan of some impostors of NANS Zone D led by one Samuel Kappo from Lagos State University to cause unrest in the State in the guise of protesting against the recent increment in electricity tariff amongst others.

It is on record that NANS/JCC, Ogun axis in consolidating on the directive that was given by the leadership of the association at the Zonal level staged a protest which happened simultaneously throughout the South West States on Tuesday, 8th September to show our dissatisfaction to the recent increment and some other neo-liberal policies of the Federal Government.

It must be made known that these elements that are planning to disrupt the peace of the State are political jobbers being sponsored by some persons to cause mayhem in the State, and, as a State leadership of the association, we will never allow anyone or group of persons to bring the name of the association to disrepute.

For a fact, we have already staged a protest as directed by the Zonal leadership and it would be agreed that there is no reason whatsoever to stage a similar protest, and, the fact that these persons plan to protest on something we have already protested against which was well-circulated in both print and video media is a testament to the fact that they are mere political jobbers and impostors who are looking for every means not just to disrupt the peace of the State by giving the already over-stretched security forces unnecessary work to do but to also destroy the name of the association  all in the name of token they are being given by politicians.

In all, we call on the Commissioner of Police and the Director, SSS, Ogun State command to mobilise heavily in ensuring that the impostors are arrested and their plan foiled and we assure security operatives in the State that, as a State leadership, we shall join the security in stopping this show of shame as our leadership will not sit and watch some persons totally destabilize the association.
