Following a petition against the appointment and installation of one Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle, as the Babaloja in Mowe, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ogun State House of Assembly has invited him to immediately appear before it on Wednesday, 30th, September, 2020  at 10.00am.

The Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Akeem Balogun, issued the invitation, shortly after Otunba Nurudeen Alowonle failed to show up on a scheduled peace meeting between him and the petitioners led by Dada Akinola Opomija Family of  Imedu Olori today at the Assembly Complex, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.

Balogun noted that the invitation was consequent upon a petition by the Dada Akinola Opomija Family of Imedu Olori in Mowe, who alleged that there was an existing occupant, who is from their family in accordance with the customs and traditions of the town and still very much alive.

According to the House Committee Chairman, there was need for the House of Assembly to look into the petition with a view to promoting peaceful co-existence among the residents of the community, hence, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle should appear in person to defend himself on the said date in line with the official invitation of the House already extended to him.

Earlier in their petition, the Opomija family stated that the position was already being occupied by Chief Ajani Oseni since 2010 tilldate and was issued a certificate of recognition by Obafemi Owode Local Government.
