The Police have arrested the Assistant Chief Matron, State General Hospital, Idiroko, Ogun State, for performing family planning on the 24 - year - old daughter of an incestuous father and pastor, Femi Oyebola.
The Matron, Mrs Ogundimu Monilola, was paraded before reporters along with the - 44 - year old Pastor Oyebola of the Christ Apostolic Church(CAC), Ogo Oluwa parish, Olokuta, Ogun State, at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran by the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson.
Nurse Monilola who said she was shocked to find herself at Eleweran with reporters swarming around her, added that she never knew what was the issue with the Police until she found herself face to face with Oyebola at Eleweran.
Proclaiming herself a professional nurse and the health worker in charge of the family planning unit at the State General Hospital, Idiroko, she denied carrying out any abortion on Pastor Oyebola's daughter, but the Police claimed that she had in her confessional statement earlier, admitted performing abortion on the girl.
The Assistant Chief Matron, however, admitted she was on duty the day Pastor Oyebola presented the girl for family planning at the hospital, claiming the girl was his house help while a man who identified himself as James, posed as the husband.
According to her, she never knew the family planning sought by them for the girl was meant to serve the incestuous lifestyle of her father, Pastor Oyebola.
She also declared that the Family Planning service sought and obtained by the girl at the facility, was official and well documented, explaining that it is legitimate for any female person that is 18 years and above, to seek and obtain Family Planning care from a hospital.
"She (the girl) asked for a family planning and I did it for her. I'm in charge of the family planning. It is official and it is in the record. Any girl that is 18 years and above is allowed to seek and obatain family planning. It is lawful. I have never performed abortion on the girl. In fact, I don't abort pregnancy," she said.
The Police Commissioner, Ebrimson said the offence allegedly committed by Pastor Oyebola is "incest" and that he had been engaging in it with his daughter in the last four years.
He said the incestuous acts led to occurrence of three pregnancies, termination of the pregnancies and subsequent family planning for the girl to step up the affairs without risk of further pregnancy until the bubble burst on him this 2020.
However, Pastor Oyebola who claimed to be the leader of the Deliverance arm of the Ogo - Oluwa Parish of the CAC church, admitted that the incestuous acts with his daughter was a "mistake," due to "spiritual attack" by foes.
He explained that an "unclean spirit" influenced him into the illicit affairs and appealed to Nigerians, the government and the Christian community to forgive him as well as intercede to God on his behalf.
The Daily Crucible recalls that the reprehensible sexual affairs between father and daughter burst as the girl who had recently concluded her National Youth Service in one of the South South States, was reluctant to stay any more with her father in the same house but when he continued to oppose her resolve to leave home for Lagos, the girl ran away and reported her ordeals to a Non Governmental Organisation - Advocacy For Children And Vulnerable Persons Network.
The NGO led her to the Owode-Egbado Divisional Headquarters where she reported that her father has been forcefully having carnal knowledge of her routinely since 2015 when she was 19 years old and shortly after the death of her mother.
She also told the Police that she got pregnant for her father three times, but her father took her to a nurse where those pregnancies were aborted.
She also told the Police that after the third pregnancy and its termination, the father did family planning for her so as not to get pregnant any longer.
