COVID-19: Ex-Ekiti Deputy Gov. Eleka distributes palliatives in Ikere

Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2018 gubernatorial election in the state, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka has distributed palliatives people across 11 wards in Ikere -Ekiti, his hometown, to cushion the effects of the lock down occassioned by the Coronavirus pandemic. 

The former deputy governor  while distributing the palliatives said, they should abide by the regulations of Nigeria  Centre for Disease Control (NCDC's) to curtail the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

Eleka said it was pertinent to reach out to the people, particularly the less-privileged his party, the PDP. 
He said that the virus was real, adding that the virus do not know neither the rich nor the poor and that prevention is better that cure.

The University don enjoined Ward Chairmen to make sure the food items distributed equally in their wards.

"By the special grace of God, this will be the third phase of sharing palliatives since the lock down was imposed.

"The first phase was shared among our religious leaders in the state and Ondo by extension while the second beneficiaries were people with disabilities."

Items distributed were rice, beans, Gaari, Semovita and Spaghetti.
