The 28-year-old donated just over £750,000 to humanitarian agency UNICEF and to a solidarity fund that had been set up by other celebrities. The money donated by the Brazilian will help treat the people suffering from the COVID-19 virus as well as support those struggling due to the impact of the outbreak. The former Barcelona winger made the donation anonymously, but he was later revealed by Brazilian TV show Fofocalizando as the benefactor. Neymar has become the latest sports star to generously donate in order to help fight the virus that is claiming thousands of lives across the globe. Former footballer and Match of the Day host Gary Lineker recently donated two months of his salary – approximately £300,000 – to the British Red Cross.
