'Leave Roadsides And Walkways' - LG Chairman Ayo Shomide Tells Post-Office Panseke Traders

The transition Chairman Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Ayodeji Michael Shomide has frowned at illegal display of goods/wares by traders along the roadsides and walkways at Panseke market.

The indication emerged at June 12 market Panseke Abeokuta Ogun State yesterday during the weekly environmental sanitation exercise carried by the local government.

According to the council boss, he explained that information reached him that there was a dispute between the environmental personnel and the traders yesterday when  the environmental officers in the local government were carrying out their official duties within the community.

It was gathered that the traders engaged the officers in a fight which was unruly to the established laws of Ogun State, he added that those who engaged in the fight with the personnel in the local government would be statutorily dealt with.

Hon. Shomide stated further that the incident that occurred at June 12, Panseke market yesterday has degenerated the spreading of unrealistic rumours that the chairman Abeokuta South Local Government has banned traders at the market of their various transactions.

Hon. Shomide therefore used the medium to inform the populace and dwellers at Abeokuta South local government especially traders at June 12 market to disregard the statements that his position as concern the incident that happened at Panseke is to maintain clean environment and to stop displaying and hawking their goods on the roadsides and walkways, he asserted that the case has been reported to the law enforcement agencies.
