The Ogun Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the Late Eruku of Egbaland and the Otun of Ijeun, Chief Ebenezer Adedayo Atanda Abatan as an astute politician, prolific writer and good orator, whose wealth of experience as a member of the Governor's Elders Advisory Council will be greatly missed.
Prince Dapo Abiodun, who made this known at the Final Burial Ceremony of Chief Abatan, held at the Cathedral Church of St. Peters, Ake, Abeokuta, said that the late politician, from all accounts, lived a very constructive life and was also a very generous man in his lifetime.
"Baba, from all accounts, lived a very constructive life. He was well lettered. He was a very consistent man and an astute politician. He was a prolific writer, good orator, and a kind and very generous man," he said.
Abiodun, while consoling the family he left behind, urged the people of the State to be efficient with their time, as time waits for nobody.
In his sermon with the theme, "Prepare Your Life," Venerable Olutoyin Olawale, who said that it is destined for everyone to die at an appointed time, noted that everyone must put his house and life in order.
Olawale, while urging politicians to deliver on projects that would save lives and not those that would take lives, noted that they should have it at the back of their minds that the good and the bad things they do would always go with them.
The Late Eruku of Egbaland and Otun of Ijeun, Chief Ebenezer Adedayo Atanda Abatan, until his death, was a member of the recently constituted Governor's Elders Advisory Council.
