The supposed Director Corporate Affairs Winner Newspaper who allegedly signed an appointment letter for the NUJ president Chris Isiguzo, has described same letter as fake.

In a letter to the claimants counsel Chris Odilli whose signature was allegedly forged in the letter said he never authored the letter.

This adds to the number of alleged falsified documents up for authentication as the trial of Isiguzo which was to come up at the Industrial Court Abuja February 12, was shifted to March 2nd as the judges were said to have gone for a retreat.
But Counsel to Waheed Odusile who is challenging Isiguzo’s educational qualifications filed an amendment seeking to bring in the South East Vice President, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Lion Chibota Edozie as a witness in the matter.

The NWAOJ Vice President had worked as a reporter in the defunct Winner Newspaper where Isiguzo/Isinguzoro is claiming to have also worked.

Isiguzo’s appointment letter, which he filed in court, dated January 15, 1999, was allegedly signed by Chris Odilli, Director Corporate Affairs.

But in his reply to Barr. Obinna D. Okeke’s inquiry about the authenticity of the appointment letter, Mr Odilli dismissed the letter as fake.

Hear him; “The letter head is fake because it’s not the official letter head of Winner Newspapers and Trend Magazine.

“Winner Communication LTD was the publisher of The Winner newspaper and Trend Magazine.

“Winner Communication LTD, the Winner Newspaper and Trend Magazine ceased to exist before 15/1/1999, the date of the purported offer of appointment.

“I did not sign or make any appointment letter for Isinguzoro Ikechukwu Christopher or any other person at all….”

Former NUJ president Waheed Odusile is in court to be declared winner of the last NUJ election following the controversy surrounding Isiguzo’s educational qualifications.
Odusile is alleging that Isiguzo Chris who contested the election has no certificate.

In his statement of defense Isiguzo swore an affidavit claiming that all the names Isiguzo Ikechukwu Christopher, Isinguzo Ikechukwu Christopher, Isinguzoro Ikechukwu Christopher.

He however, decided to drop the name he answered in China, Isiguzoro Ikechukwu Christopher.

Meanwhile, two of his certificates are up for examination.
1) ND (Oko) with name Isinguzo Ikechukwu C. (31/12/98)

2) HND (Oko) with the name Isinguzoro Ikechukwu C. with which he was working in Thisday until his sack, and temporary recall.

“This looks like another Bayelsa guber forgery,” a lawyer at the Industrial Court told our reporter.
