Ogun First Lady, Bamidele Abiodun Advises Nursing Mothers To Breastfeed Babies, Welcome First Babies, Showers Gifts

The Wife of the Governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has advised nursing mothers to exclusively breast feed their babies towards ensuring a healthy mental and physical growth.

   Mrs. Abiodun gave the advice while welcoming the first babies of the year at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH, Sagamu, Ogun state.
   She said breast milk contained required nutrients needed by the babies for total growth and development that would help to prevent illnesses and mortality among them affirming government readiness to improve on mother and child health in the state.

   Mrs. Abiodun donated cash and  items to the baby girl, Osungbure born at about 12.01am weighing 3.3kg and baby boy Akindele born at 12.10am weighing 2.5kg while congratulating  their mothers, Oluwakemi Osungbure and Folashade Akindele for safe delivery and prayed for the babies who according to her came at the beginning of another decade.

   She extended her kind gesture to other babies in the maternity ward of the hospital noting that  babies were special gifts from God and should be cherished and blessed.

   Mrs. Abiodun settled the hospital bills of mothers of some other babies who were not able to pay for them to be discharged assuring that the present administration would not relent in enhancing the health status of the citizens. 

   The mothers of the first babies and other mothers in ward unanimously thanked and appreciated her for choosing to bless them and their babies stating that the impact of the present administration is already being felt by many in the state.
   Mrs.Abiodun was also at Oba Ademola II Maternity Hospital, Ijemo, Abeokuta where she welcomed baby girl Olagoke with gifts and cash.

   The wife of the Governor was also at the Primary Health Care Center Igbogila, in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun state where she admonished mother of the newborn baby girl, Koselu delivered at 12.01am not to see breast feeding as an option but a priority towards ensuring healthy growth devoid of diseases  and ailments that could culminate in early child death.

  Represented by the Commissioner designate Ministry of Health,  Dr. Tomi Coker, the Wife of the Governor donated cash and baby items to the newborn and the mother.
