I Have No Connection In The Removal Of LASAA Boss- Seyi Tinubu

Since the recent sack of Mobolaji Sanusi, the former MD of LASAA, by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, some rabble rouser has been trying to feast on the news to wage their perceived war against the person of Seyi Tinubu, the chairman and co-founder of Loatsad Promomedia, one of the country’s leading advertising company. Their unsubstantiated story was silently but steadily attributing the sack of Sanusi to an imaginary squabbles between Seyi and Sanusi.

The rumor perceived that Seyi has been having more than input on who heads the agency. Unknown to them Loatsad has enjoyed a very good cordial relationship with Mr Sanusi who was described as a man with a wonderful professional ethics that has seen the industry grow in leaps since his appointment. Others were also wondering the correlation on how a statutory government procedure became the albatross of Seyi who is just going about his business like any other young Nigerian.

The true state of things however is that Sanusi’s tenure expired September 13, 2019, but much against his expectations, it was not renewed. In a statement on Tuesday, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, said Sanwo-Olu had approved the appointment of Adedamola Docemo as the new managing director of the agency.

According to the statement, Docemo’s appointment was confirmed in a letter by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, and took effect from December 9. “Docemo’s appointment followed a vacancy created by the expiration of the tenure of the former managing director on September 13, 2019.

Seyi is the scion of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arguably Nigeria’s most powerful politician, despite the fact that many political favour seekers sees him as the go-to man; because of his relationship with the National Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress, he has make sure he stay away from anything political at the moment as he has mentors that cut across.

Though in his early 30s, the lawyer-son of the All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain and two-term governor of Lagos State is understandably seen to be as influential as they come. His philanthropic nature has also being generating a groundswell of rumours that he is being primed for a topmost political office in the state, Seyi has come into his own as a factor in the political calculus of Lagos State. And he is inadvertently stirring up heated conversations in many circles across the State.

Seyi led Lotsad Promomedia which describes itself as the new rave in advertising companies in Nigeria.

Now, this is where the misconception lies; LASAA was established by Tinubu under the Lagos State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency Law, 2006, to re-define the signage and outdoor advertising industry in the through effective regulation and civic beautification and to regulate and control outdoor advertising and signage displays in the State and the father’s influence is thought to be coming to play since the child is now a major player in that same industry.
