The chairmanship aspirant of Abeokuta South local government in the forthcoming election, Comrade Lion Olujimi Adekunle David aka Desmond has attributed the victory of Governor Dapo Abiodun at the appeal court to God.
Shortly after the judgement was delivered, Olujimi commended the decision of the appellate court as he urged the aggrieved members to join hands with the performing governor of Ogun State towards a smooth administration.
Also, Olujimi commended the Appeal Court for upholding the September 14 judgment of the Ogun State governorship election petitions tribunal .
Meanwhile, The Yusuf Halilu-led tribunal had earlier declared Prince Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the March 9 governorship election in Ogun State.
The panel of the Appeal Court presided over by Justice Abubakar Yahaya, dismissed the appeal filed by Hon. Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
The court said the appeal lacks merit, saying it stands by the decision of the lower tribunal.
