The WhatsApp status of Salamat, a student of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU, Gubi Campus, Bauchi, who died after a metal bridge collapsed on their campus, has been posted by one of her friends.

A screenshot of the WhatsApp status shared online, Salamat wrote that her Degree is not going to heaven with her and so she was not ready to kill herself, apparently over a difficult test or class assignment.

It was reports that Salamat and some of her colleagues were reading in a classroom at about 10pm when they decided to hurry back to the hostel as the weather became windy.

Just before going to use the pedestrian bridge that caused her to drown, Salamat updated her Whatsapp status. In her words

My degree will not go up with me to heaven. Therefore, I will not come and kill myself over school. If I don’t know it by 11.30pm, I am resting my head peacefully on my pillow and going to sleep” she wrote

Just like the had a premonition of what is ahead of her, she died just an hour later when she and some other students were on the bridge constructed across a stream within the premises of the school.
