ABEOKUTA - The lingering crisis rocking the Ogun State chapter of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has taken another dimension, as some aggrieved members of the council are allegedly planning to remove the Chairman, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi, Amebo Online Newspaper has gathered.

It was reliably gathered that, the Deputy Chairman who is the chairman of Mega Party in Ogun State, Mr. Moshood Adesina has been tipped to replace Arabambi if the impeachment or suspension is successfully implemented.

Amebo Online Newapaper recall that, the national leadership of IPAC on May 2, 2019 summoned all the warring factions of the council to Abuja over the initial suspension of the state chairman, Arabambi.

The national secretariat after careful investigation set up a 7-man Investigation panel headed Hon. Geff Ojinika to critically investigate the state of affairs of the Ogun IPAC with  a view to finding a lasting solution to the crisis.

The panel after interfacing with the warring factions, recommended that there would be no leadership change in Ogun IPAC because the allegations leveled against its Chairman, Abayomi Arabambi was baseless, and lack justification to suspend the chairman.

However, drama ensued immediately the panel left Abeokuta for submition of the fact finding report to the National secretariat of IPAC, as some members of the 7-man committee allegedly recommended the suspension of the state Chairman.

Anonymous source closed to the panel chairman, Hon. Ojinika said the recommendations by selected members of the committee infuriated the committee chairman and refused assent to the recommendations, saying the report negates the resolution of the committee in Abeokuta.

This ugly development, we learnt has divided the National leadership of IPAC, while some are sympathetic to the Ogun State chairman, others are in support of the dissenting members of the council in the state.

But speaking to our correspondent in a telephone interview, the embattled IPAC Chairman, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi said the plot to remove him was orchestrated by Ogun governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun and a chieftain of APC in the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba.

Arabambi said the move to suspend him as IPAC chairman was due to his refusal to withdraw his petition against APC and the governor-elect from the election petition tribunal as Labour Party Chairman.

He claimed that, he had been informed about the plan by his Deputy, Mr. Moshood Adesina of Mega Party and some members of IPAC to suspend him for three months or indefinitely to prevent him from attending the inauguration of Prince Dapo Abiodun as Ogun State governor on May 29.

The IPAC Chairman alleged that, though, the Ogun governor-elect and Chief Osoba offered him money to withdraw his petition from the tribunal, but said his refusal to oblige to their request was the reason the APC chieftains are allegedly sponsoring his removal.

Arabambi explained that, Chief Osoba believes his refusal to withdraw his petition at the tribunal was to favour the APM governorship candidate in the state, Adekunle Akinlade and the outgoing governor, Ibikunle Amosun because if the election were to be reconducted in the state, it will favour the APM candidate.

"Let me tell you the bottom line of this uproar in IPAC, my refusal to withdraw Labour Party petition at the tribunal was the cause of this crisis. Look, it is true APC offered me money to withdraw the case, but my refusal amounted to favourism to APM which ignite Dapo Abiodun forces to move against me and mount pressure on PPN national chairman, Hon. Razak Eyiowuawi who later influenced other IPAC members to move for my suspension to allow their preferred candidate, Moshood Adesina of Mega Party to emerge as chairman and Adefemi Omoniyi of KOWA party as secretary.

"Well, I am not unaware about the clandestine move, but I was given a clean bill of health by the Investigation panel headed by Geff Ojinika and said there will be no leadership change in Ogun IPAC because the allegations against me were baseless, and the documents upon which they made the allegations were forged, but I have equally reported that to the Ogun State Commissioner of Police to investigate the matter.

"My brother (referring to the journalist),I know those behind my ordeal in IPAC and they are just three people. They are; Prince Dapo Abiodun, Chief Olusegun Osoba and Senator Buruji Kashamu of PDP. These three people are the ones fueling crisis in IPAC to shut me out. But I have a message for them. I will not be coerced, harassed or intimidated by anybody to withdraw my case from tribunal, they will only cause unprecedented crisis in IPAC.

"Arabambi cannot be removed by anybody unlawfully. I will be ready to prove my alibi, but I can be voted out in our next election as IPAC not by unfounded allegations and some fifth columnists. I know that Mega Party is working for Kashamu, but that should not determine that he should be using them against me."

When contacted, the IPAC Deputy Chairman, Mr. Moshood Adesina denied working for Chief Osoba and Dapo Abiodun, saying as a member of Mega Party in the state, he cannot work for any opposition party as that amount to anti-party activities which is against the constitution of his party.

Adesina claimed that, the embattled IPAC Chairman, Arabambi is already on suspension, saying they were only waiting for the report of the National  investigation committee to solidify his suspension.

According to him,  "I am not working for anybody. My own party is Mega Party and I am the Chairman of Mega Party in Ogun State while Chief Osoba and Dapo Abiodun are members of APC. What I can confirm is that, Arabambi is already on suspension. Last week, the national body of IPAC sent a 7-man committee to Abeokuta, the meeting came up at INEC office, so we are expecting the report from the National office this week, but I don't know what will be the outcome of the report", Adesina said.

Also, the Ogun State governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun denied bribing Arabambi or Labour Party from withdrawing his petition from the election petition tribunal, stressing that, the allegation was unfounded which cannot be substantiated.

Dapo Abiodun who spoke through one of his media assistants, Emmanuel Ojo maintained that, he has no business with Arabambi's suspension, but rather too busy for the inauguration ceremony and give the good people of the state dividends of democracy they desired.

"That's a blatant lie. Why will he accused Prince Dapo Abiodun. We have no business with that. At the moment, the most important thing to us is the inauguration and how Prince Dapo Abiodun will settle down in office and serve Ogun State  people that duly elected him. The allegation is unfounded, we have no business with that.

"As a matter of fact, we don't even know if the impeachment threat is even existing, so how will he instigate such when he himself doesn't even know such thing is happening. To me, I see it as unfounded allegation, that cannot be fully substantiated."
