How NIC Judgement Vindicated Dr. Ayotunde, Kwara University Lecturer

A Mass Communication scholar, Dr. Ayotunde Also on Tuesday stated that the judgement of National Industrial Court has vindicated him.

Dr. Ayotunde Alao disclosed this on Tuesday while speaking FactualTimes correspondent after National Industrial Court declared his dismissal from Kwara State University as unlawful and illegal.

He said the over two years legal battle cost him fortune, adding that ‘It cost me every thing but my name is what I fought for’.

The National Industrial Court sitting Akure yesterday declared the termination of appointment of Dr Ayotunde Alao of mass communication department and the Assistant secretary of ASUU, KWASU unlawful and illegal.

Justice O.O Oyewunmi in the ruling ordered KWASU to reinstate Alao within 30days, pay all his entitlements and grant all promotion due.

Dr Alao appointment was terminated in October 2016 after several unfounded allegations of extortion, threat to student’s life and immoral behavior was leveled against him.

Reacting to this development, The Chairman Kwara State University ASUU, Dr. Adeshola Dauda said this is a victory not only for an individual but for the entire ASUU body.

Dr Ayotunde Alao was the assistant secretary of ASUU Kwara state university branch before his termination from service and series of incidents had occurred as a result of his involvement in union affairs which the university management vehemently frowned against.

The case which had been in court since February 2017 eventually came to an end today the 21st of may, 2019.
