Nigerians have put the out going Governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode for Inviting President Muhammadu Buhari to Lagos for the commissioning of some projects undertaken by his Administration – which are yet to be completed.
In a apparent move to forestall confusion as regards whose tenure the projects were executed, the governor, who was denied a second term, invited the president with just a month to his hand over.

Some of the projects include, the rehabilitated 10-lane Oshodi – Muritala Muhammed International Airport Road; the 170-Bed ‘Ayinke House’ (Maternity Hospital)) at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Ikeja; the Lagos State Theatre at Oregun, Ikeja; new 820 Mass Transit Buses and the multi-level Oshodi Transport Interchange along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
However, two of the protects are yet to be completed; which include, the 10-lane Oshodi- Muritala Muhammed International Airport and the multi-level Oshodi Transport Interchange along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
It is understood not to be unconnected to the events that played out during the 2018 All Progressives Congress, APC governorship primary in Lagos – where now Governor elect, Babajide Sanwolu was handpicked to replace him.
Many believe his decision not allow Sanwolu to commission the projects upon assuming office is a clear indication of his dissatisfaction with the role the party played in denying him second term ticket – even the former governor of the state and now minister for works, power and housing, Babtunde Fashola is thought not to be officially invited.
