It was a tragic afternoon along Kara bridge in the Ojodu/Akute axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State when a petrol tanker with registration number, Lagos APP 49 XS, crushed four vehicles and killed two persons and left six others injured and fighting for their lives.

The Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Clement Oladele, who confirmed the incident, said of the 15 persons were involved in the accident, two persons died, while six others sustained injury.
The state FRSC boss said the multiple accidents, which involved five vehicles, were caused by speed violation. He said the injured victims had been transported to the Accident and Emergency Centre in Ojota.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, also confirmed the incident .

Also, the Public Relations Officer of the state Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the accident occurred at 6:25AM on Saturday .
Akinbiyi said the affected vehicles were a BMW salon with registration number, Lagos EPE 864 CN; Mitsubishi Lancer (Lagos KRD 935 XD); Toyota Carina (Lagos GGE 883 AT) and an unascertained vehicle. He said the accident was caused by a runaway driver, who drove against the traffic leading to a head-on collision.
