20 Year-Old Butchered Okada Rider, Steals His Bike In Ogun

ABEOKUTA – A 20 Year-old murder suspect, Tobi Kodaolu has narrated how he murdered a commercial motorcyclist popularly known as Okada rider into the bush and butchered him before taking away his bike along Iyana Efon via Orile-Ilugun in Odeda Local Government Area of the state.

It was learnt that Tobi conspired with the his younger, Kehinde, 16, and one Hammed Babalola, 18, to murder Oni Oluwajuwon and robbed him of his Okada after the trio had taken oath of secrecy not to link the secret of the dead Okada man.

Tobi, while confessing to the crime, said that he boarded victim’s bike from Efon going to kila when he stopped Oluwajuwon along the way that he wanted to take something at the nearby bush and in the process murdered the victim with a matchet and stole his bike away.
The suspect said he intends to use the motorcycle for commercial purposes in Abeokuta.

He said ” I didn’t mean to Kill him before snatching his bike it was the work of the devil. I killed him with a matchet at around 7:00pm at night. The Okada rider cacarrye from Efon and I asked him to take me to kila, on our way I asked him to park at a nearby bush that I wanted to take something and when he did, I brought out my cutlass under my cloth and matcheted him, he then fall down and I took away his bike.”

But the duo of Kehinde and Hammed however disassociate themselves from killing the victim, saying that it was Tobi who lured the Okada man to a nearby bush and murdered him in order to rob him of his bike.
They said that immediately Tobi killed his victim he invited them to his home his home and brought out magical charm for them take oath that they would not betrayed him and later told them his mission was to steal a bike .
Parading the suspects on Tuesday at the Police Headquarters Eleweran, the State Commissioner of Police Ahmed Iliyasu said that the three suspects confessed to conniving to murder the victim and dispossessed him of the motorcycle.

Iliyasu said that the suspects were arrested when one Niniola Michael reported the case to Odeda Division Headquarters of the Police that Oluwajuwon a Bajaj motorcyclist with the registration number OYO GMO513 UG was found dead with machete cut all over his body at Odeda LG.

The Commissioner stated that the efforts of the police led the DPO Odeda Division CSP Baba Mohammed paid off when they traced the stolen Okada and in the process nabbed the three suspects through the help of the Vigilant Service of Ogunstate.

He said” On the 4the of October 2018 at about 12:30pm one Niniola Michael of kila village in Odeda local government area of Ogun state reported at the Odeda Divisional Headquarters that one Oni Oluwajuwon a Bajaj Motorcycle rider with the registration number OYO 513 UG was found dead with machete cut all over the his body along Iyana Efon Village via Orile-Ilugun in Odeda local government and the motorcycle was equally taken away”.

The police boss therefore implored commercial motorcyclists in the state to avoid carrying two or more passengers at odd hours especially in the busy area to forestall reocurrence of such incident.
