Sagamu LG Chairman urges Nigerians to remain resilient, support reforms and build a better future
The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has called on Nigerians to remain united, resilient and committed to building a stronger and more prosperous nation as Nigeria celebrates its 66th Independence Anniversary.
Odulate, in a goodwill message commemorating the anniversary, extended his greetings to Nigerians at home and abroad, with particular emphasis on the people of Sagamu Local Government.
Reflecting on Nigeria’s journey since independence, the Sagamu Local Government Chairman said the country’s 66th anniversary provides an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the nation’s achievements, challenges and the collective responsibility required to secure a better future.
He noted that this year’s theme, “From Reforms to Stability: Consolidating Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for Shared Prosperity,” captures an important phase in the country’s development journey.
According to him, while the pursuit of economic stability may involve challenges and sacrifices, the ultimate objective of every meaningful reform should be to improve the living conditions of Nigerians and create greater opportunities for citizens.
“The road to economic stability may come with challenges and sacrifices, but every meaningful reform must ultimately translate into better opportunities, improved livelihoods and a more prosperous future for our people,” he stated.
Odulate further described Nigeria as a nation endowed with enormous potential, stressing that the country’s greatest strength remains the resilience, creativity and determination of its people.
He urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the country, but to continue contributing positively to national development while promoting peace, unity and social cohesion.
“At 66, Nigeria remains a nation of great potential. Our strength lies in the resilience, creativity and determination of our people, and in our collective belief that a better Nigeria is possible,” he said.
The Sagamu council boss also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents and strengthening communities across the Local Government.
He said the council would continue to support programmes and initiatives capable of improving lives, enhancing community development and contributing to the overall progress of Ogun State and Nigeria.
Odulate called on residents of Sagamu and Nigerians generally to see nation-building as a collective responsibility, urging citizens to uphold peace, unity and patriotism while playing their individual and collective roles in building the Nigeria they desire.
He concluded his message by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and memorable 66th Independence Anniversary.
“Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria.
God bless Sagamu Local Government.
God bless Ogun State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
