Gboyega Akosile, special adviser on media and publicity to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, has criticised Solomon Buchi, the content creator, for advising foreigners to stop visiting the state if they want to “experience Nigeria in its truest form”.

In a video posted on his page on Thursday, Buchi described Lagos as a state filled with “madness”, “clubbing and women with fake bums and BBL”.

“Stop visiting Lagos if you are non-Nigerian and you want to experience Nigeria in its truest, most beautiful form,” Buchi said.

“If you’re Caucasian, Chinese, Asian, whatever you are, stop going to Lagos.

“The only thing you can get out of Lagos is begging, clubbing, fake life and a den of adulterers and fornicators. There is nothing there apart from all the loudness and madness.”

The content creator urged foreigners to instead visit other parts of the country, notably Uyo, Abuja, Jos, Ibadan, Calabar, Taraba, Yola, Kano and Bauchi.

According to him, these places have cleaner water and less smell than Lagos.

“There are so many beautiful places in Nigeria that are not Lagos. You won’t see the louds on the streets begging you or demanding money from you,” he said.

“The problem is that every time you guys go to Nigeria, you go to Lagos. Even if you really want to experience the Yoruba culture, like I said, go to Ibadan.

“There is nothing in Lagos apart from clubbing and women with fake bums and BBLs and men with fake lives. It’s just a hub of loud and useless entertainment and fakeness. Go to other places in Nigeria.”

‘THOSE CLUBBING, BBL MAKE LAGOS INTERESTING’

Reacting in a post on Friday, Akosile accused Buchi of displaying his bitterness towards Lagos in a bid to market other parts of the country.

“Dear Solomon, you could have done a better job of marketing other parts of Nigeria without displaying your bitterness to Lagos,” he wrote.

“Those clubbing, BBL etc that you mentioned with derision are some of the reasons why Lagos nightlife is interesting and they’re in high demand by those who visit our beautiful city.”

Akosile questioned what Buchi and other content creators “smoke” before making such comments.

“I wonder what you guys smoke before you set up your ring lights and cameras, that makes you vomit diatribe,” he wrote.

He said no matter the “hateful rhetoric”, Lagos will continue to get better and stronger.

“It is a city where dreams are realised. Ask several of your brothers from the other side,” Akosile said.

“We’re expecting to visit your families and friends in Lagos this December. Plenty of activities await you.”
