Omolafe was brought before the court on three counts bordering on grievous assault and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Augustine Omhenimhen, told the court that the incident occurred around 9 a.m. on July 29, 2026, while the annual Agbon Festival was underway in Oba-Ile.
According to the prosecution, the defendant allegedly attacked one Kayode Olatunji with a broken bottle, inflicting injuries beneath his left arm and on one of his fingers.
The prosecutor said the injuries resulted in permanent damage.
Omhenimhen further alleged that the defendant engaged in a public altercation during the celebration, an act said to have disrupted the event and was capable of causing a breach of public peace.
He informed the court that the alleged offences contravened Section 335 and are punishable under Section 249(D) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The prosecutor prayed the court for an adjournment to enable the prosecution review its case file and present four witnesses scheduled to testify during the trial.
Counsel for the defendant, Ayo Adeboye, did not oppose the application but urged the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms while also seeking time to prepare the defence.
In his ruling, Magistrate Taiwo Lebi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the matter for further hearing.
