...As Two-Day Commissioning Programme Holds August 27 and 31
The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, is set to commission another set of people-oriented projects across different communities and wards within the Local Government Area, further demonstrating his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and improved living standards for residents.
The two-day project commissioning programme, scheduled for Thursday, August 27, and Monday, August 31, 2026, will feature the unveiling of projects cutting across critical sectors, including education, water supply, road infrastructure, commerce and administrative development.
The initiative is part of the Ogunsola-led administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen basic infrastructure and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach communities across the length and breadth of Obafemi Owode Local Government.
The commissioning programme will commence on Thursday, August 27, with the commissioning of a motorway culvert at Oloko-Isu Street, Ifelodun Jaguna CDA, off Laderin Train Station Road in Egbeda Ward, at 10:00 a.m.
At 11:00 a.m., the Local Government Chairman will commission a block of two classrooms, a Head Teacher’s office and a store at Owojo in Ajebo Ward, a project expected to provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
The programme will proceed to N.U.D. Primary School, Mowe, in Ofada Ward, where another block of two classrooms will be commissioned at 1:00 p.m.
Also on the first day, a motorised borehole at Alufa Village in Ajura Ward will be commissioned at 2:30 p.m., while the day’s activities will be rounded off at the Obafemi Owode Local Government Secretariat with the commissioning of the reconstructed Information, Education and Agriculture Departments Block at 3:30 p.m.
The second day of the commissioning exercise, scheduled for Monday, August 31, will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the commissioning of ten lock-up shops at Kajola Market. The project is expected to boost commercial activities and provide improved business spaces for traders and residents.
At 1:00 p.m., the Chairman will commission a block of two classrooms and an office at United Anglican Primary School, Moloko Asipa, further expanding the administration’s investment in educational infrastructure.
The two-day exercise will climax with the commissioning of a 1.3-kilometre asphalt road linking Ita Baale Mango, Oluwo and Adigbe at 2:00 p.m., providing improved connectivity and easing movement for residents and road users in the affected communities.
The projects, according to the Local Government, are a reflection of the administration’s determination to deliver sustainable development and address the infrastructural needs of the people at the grassroots.
Amb. Ogunsola’s administration has continued to place emphasis on projects with direct impact on the daily lives of residents, with interventions spanning education, road construction, water supply, commercial infrastructure and improved working facilities within the Local Government Secretariat.
Residents, traditional and community leaders, stakeholders and other well-wishers have been invited to join the Executive Chairman and his team during the commissioning ceremonies.
The administration noted that the projects also form part of its contribution towards complementing the broader infrastructural development initiatives of the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.
With the forthcoming commissioning of the projects, the Obafemi Owode Local Government leadership is reaffirming its resolve to build a better, stronger and more developed Local Government Area through the provision of infrastructure and services that directly impact the people.
