The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Olusegun Victor Elemide, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the advancement of the architectural profession while calling for greater youth participation in shaping the built environment and the future of the nation.
Rt. Hon. Elemide made this known while receiving members of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), Ogun State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Arc. Olugbenga Akande, on a courtesy visit to the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
In his remarks, the Speaker applauded the Institute for upholding professionalism and ethical standards despite the challenges confronting the profession. He assured the delegation that, as a lawmaker and a member of the Institute, he would continue to support initiatives that promote excellence, innovation, and sustainable development within the architectural sector.
Rt. Hon. Elemide also emphasized the need to inspire more young people to embrace architecture, describing the profession as a vital pillar in national development and physical planning.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions and unwavering support for the profession, the Nigerian Institute of Architects, Ogun State Chapter, presented the Speaker with an Award of Excellence, appreciating his dedication to the growth of architecture and his people-oriented legislative service.
